As previously reported, At Mount Zoomer is out July 17th. Rumor has it that the boys are exploring more Sunset Rubdown territory, though I'd have to disagree from what I've heard. Everyone, just please remember that Dan Boeckner is in the band too and not just Spencer Krug!
(Sorry, got into a discussion with someone the other day who had no idea who Dan Boeckner was but listened to every Spencer Krug project.)

The Futureheads are back on Tuesday with their new record, This Is Not the World! They're also self-releasing this album. Times are changing...major label artists are going back to being garage bands but with considerably bigger audiences. Go internets?

I've been interested in the dub influences that have been popping up in rock music as of late. Studio, Santogold, Built To Spill...and now Ted Leo? Check out their take on Spoon's (and The Natural History's) "Don't You Evah"!

Well, it's been awhile since I checked in with The Morning Benders, but I'm happy to report they have a new album out today! Talking Through Tin Cans captures the boys' good old fashioned yearning, but with drastically better production. On top of that, they are embarking on a tour with The Kooks next week. My hat is off to you, gentlemen...the hard work has paid off!

Headed off to Puerto Vallarta for the weekend! Was re-listening to the new Portishead album that came out this week - I absolutely got chills when the Blade Runner synth comes in near the end of "Machine Gun". Take a listen for yourself, and welcome back Portishead!
