RW370 caught Van Halen in concert when they had their pre-recorded synth track for "Jump" playing back at the wrong settings, resulting in the part so out of key that it was impossible to play along with - check the video for the hilarity!
My point is though, why does this sound so familiar? Wait a sec...didn't Legion of Rock Stars do a version of "Jump"?

Cut Copy will return...their new album In Ghost Colours will be released in Feburary 2008! The Manchester Orchestra is embarking on a tour soon co-headlining with Annuals. How fitting that they should cover "Brother" by their tourmates! They take the epic aspirations of the original version and strip it down to a simple but pleasant bedroom rock song. Check it:

Well, after listening to In Rainbows extensively for a week, I have a few conclusions:
1. I like the songs. After having heard live versions of all these songs for the last couple years, it's nice to hear proper studio versions of them. "All I Need" and "Nude" came out perfectly. It's sparse, slightly weird, and beautiful Radiohead. That being said...
2. I don't always like the production choices. The live versions of "Arpeggi" and "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" are more rocking by far. While I understand as a whole Radiohead was going for a more laid back sound, I have to wonder why the drums are turned down so much on these songs. And what's with the drums? It sounds like
3. Worth the $10 + tax/debit card fee I paid. I know this sounds a bit negative, but I do enjoy the album overall. Just disappointed with how "Arpeggi" turned out! Do a comparison for yourself!

For a limited time if you join the Facebook group "Ticketmaster Live" (search for it on Facebook) they'll give you 5 free itunes song credits. You can quit the group after you get the credits. Anyway, I used my song credits to download the new Bird And The Bee EP, Please Clap Your Hands in iTunes Plus format. I seem to have been distracted by my recent travel and the release date just slipped by me!
"Polite Dance Song" has been streaming on their myspace for awhile now, won't you check it out now in mp3 form? There's also a fun cover of "How Deep Is Your Love" by the Bee Gees...

Tristeza is an instrumental/math/psychedelic indie-rock band from San Diego. Their songs develop organically and unexpectedly, but never fail to keep a steady groove. Dark spiraling melodies turn into driving anthems and continuously keep you on your toes. Band comparisions? Explosions In The Sky and This Alibi.

Remember our friends Electric Six and their hit single "Danger! High Voltage!"? They're back today with a new album, I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master. This time they want to show us their "Dance Pattern". It's pretty much what we've come to expect from Electric Six, silly words and silly beats. But catchy. Giddyup!

Stereogum's done it again...they've assembled a tribute to REM's classic album Automatic For The People! They've gotten contributions from the likes of Rogue Wave, The Forms, Figurines, and most excitingly, The Wrens! How appropriate, I was going to theme today's post about Radiohead already and then they went ahead and dropped a bomb about the new album! If you haven't heard, head over to this site to pre-order a digital download of In Rainbows that will be available on 10/9. Also, you pay them what you think they deserve to be paid! You could pay $1 for the album...or $20!
They also have a real box set that comes with vinyl, fancy packaging, and a bonus CD with some of the excellent songs that didn't make the album...that costs more like $80. Guys, where is "Open Pick"? I hope you just renamed it, cause I really liked that song...
